Socks

Just finished these socks for youngest daughter.  Nightmare to knit because the manufacturer had put a join in the wool and had joined the new yarn backwards way to the original...it took some sorting...and I was not a happy bunny...I couldn't understand why the colour run wasn't matching!

These are Wonderful Angela, can't tell you had a nightmare with the wool... I've nearly done my first pair, but they are just one colour... Can I ask what you use to block them? Leigh x 🤗 x

A great pair of socks. The same thing happened to me and it took ages to sort out, I almost gave up! chris x

It was a pain. I always match the colour run and for the life of me I couldn't fathom out why I couldn't get it matching. Then it 'twigged!

You've done a great job with them Angela but it must have been maddening to find out the wool was joined up wrong! x

They look great but I'm not surprised you weren't happy - I hope you've contacted the manufacturer

I contacted tge craft shop where I bought it who gave me the number for the supplier where she got it..they didn't want to know as I didn't buy through them, which I understand and they were very nice. Craft shop wasn't interested either..Needless to say I won't be buying from there again.

Fab,I do a bit of knitting but never tried to knit socks, wish I could but they look very complicated xx

Give it a go. You will be surprised. I knit socks from the top down to toe method. When I cast on for the rib at the top I knit most of the rib before separating the knitting onto 4 needles. When I first started I didn't do this and it was so hard trying to knit the first row that had been put onto the 4 needles! If you can knit you can knit socks. Try..you might surprise yourself.

Never thought of doing it that way, I will give it a go watch this space 😁😁😁🤞🤞🤞
