July colour challenge - Red and Black

under 60 minutes Red easy Card Making None

Remember having a spirograph as a kid?  I made this spirelli design using a shape cut on the scan n cut and using embroidery thread to weave the pattern.  There are instructions on the internet for using various shapes, just search 'spirelli'.  I have also made one using a scalloped heart die.

That's a super card and a great idea! It could also be an interesting way to be able to incorporate Trimcrafts new range of coloured yarns into the card making side of things! 😜 I remember the Spirograph very well. Watching the plastic circles rotating in and around via their cogs and the red pen drawing the meshed patterns. Good luck in the challenge. X

PS. I did a search on "Spirelli" and got lots of pasta images. However, searching "Spirelli Patterns" did the trick. 👍

Thanks Diana. I think the TC yarns may be a bit too thick. I usually use embroidery thread. The metallic threads look particularly good too. Watch out for my ATCs swaps coming up later. They worked out particularly well...glad you found the patterns.

Thanks Chris. I disntmactaully have a spirograph but our kids did. I used to play with my friends, but I used to find it a struggle at first to get the pen going in the right motion!
