Cascade Anniversary Card – First Edition Sweet Nothings Papers & Dies

I wanted to make a special card for my mum and dad’s Wedding Anniversary and thought the First Edition Sweet Nothings papers would be absolutely perfect. They have a lovely romantic theme but with a fresh and modern colour scheme which makes them so versatile.   I wanted to include lots of details and inserts in the card yet have a card that was interesting to display too, so decided to combine a cascade card with a regular card which gave me lots of areas to decorate.

As it’s not easy to show all the details in the photos, I made a little video to show the card, link here:

Step By Step

I have somehow misplaced my instructions / measurements but basically I created a double cascade card then attached the back section to a large card base.  The large card base was created by simply scoring and folding an A4 sheet in half and then trimming down slightly.

I used a lot of different First Edition dies and a couple of Dovecraft dies to create the elements to decorate the pretty papers.  Alphabet Dies were perfect for the wording but you could also use stamps or adhesive letters instead.

I wanted to include the years for my parents Anniversary, and found the Dovecraft numbers dies were the perfect size for that.

I used a pink ink to lightly edge the pattern papers.

Here is a video that shows the different panels and how it folds down flat to fit into an envelope:

A really super card I can never get this sort of card right I really admire you for such a neat lovely job

Aw thank you Mary :) I've never made a cascade card like this before, and first time doing the double cascade but it wasn't as tricky as I thought it would be, just getting the measurements right and I tested that the cascade part folded down flat properly before attached it to the main card at the back x

Lovely card! Been meaning to make a double fold cascade card for ages. Yours is a super design with great embellishments to suit the occasion. Congrats to your Mum and Dad for their anniversary. X

Thank you! This was my first attempt at the double cascade, I was just sure to mark the measurements in pencil and double check before scoring and cutting. I was lucky to have lots of lovely First Edition dies that were perfect for the card, I just raided all my die sets and it sort of made itself :) x
