I decorated a little gift box blank using Deco Mache papers to accompany the Floral Fusion butterfly card I made for a friend’s birthday.
Step By Step:
Prep the gift box blank by painting with watered down white acrylic paint, be careful not to add too much to the edges to enable the lid to slip back on.
Using the red butterfly deco mache papers, cut into strips and apply to the gift box using deco mache glue & varnish. Use a brush to apply the glue to a section at a time, then apply the paper, smooth out with the brush and then apply more adhesive over the top. Continue until all the outside of the box and the lid is decorated and leave to dry.
Using the First Edition Butterfly die set, cut a large butterfly twice from Floral Fusion papers (if you’ve made a card as I have done, then use the same butterfly to match for a co-ordinated set) Layer the butterflies by applying glue only to the body part. Glue the bottom butterfly to the lid of the gift box and when dry, use your fingers to shape the wings on the top butterfly.
To finish, add Simply Creative adhesive gems to the body of the butterfly and add some red sparkly tissue paper to the inside, all ready to pop in a little gift.
