It’s no secret the beautiful Floral Fusion papers are a particular favourite of mine and so when it came to needing to make a Birthday card for a friend, they were my first choice.  I chose the pretty blues and coral red papers and used black card to set them off, it also gave me chance to try out the new Dovecraft distressing tool.

Step By Step:

Using a square white 8x8 card blank as my base card, with fold to left.

I cut a large square of blue floral pattern paper from the 8x8 pad and used the distressing tool on the edges, before adhering to a slightly larger square of black card, and then again onto the card front using d/s tape and glue.

I did the same with a rectangle of the red butterfly pattern paper, distressing edges and adhering to black card.

Using black card and the corner dies from the Doily die set, I glued 1 to the card front at top right, and the other 2 to the rectangle panel. I used a turquoise lace ribbon (santoro) and wrapped it around the panel, securing ends on the back before adding the panel to left card front using 3D foam pads.

Using a large lacy butterfly from the FE die set, I cut it from black card, vellum and pink glitter card, layering them up by adding glue only along the body part, with black on the bottom, then vellum and glitter card on the top.  Glue the butterfly to a layered circle of Floral Fusion papers, adding glue to the whole of bottom black shape only.  Using the Doily die set, cut a doily shape from black card and mount the butterfly on top, use your fingers to bend the wings up and give them shape.  Add the panel to card front overlapping rectangle shape.

Die cut a Happy Birthday greeting from black card using the Dovecraft die and glue to card front at bottom right.  Die cut some small butterflies from the red pearlescent butterfly paper, bend wings and add to card front as desired, add glue only to body section.

Decorate card front using adhesive pearls, adding to card corners and along the butterfly bodies.

To finish, decorate inside of card using Floral Fusion paper and top with a doily die cut of white card, add a couple of die cut pearlescent butterflies, this time gluing them down flat so then card ill close easily
