I was recently asked to make some party invites for my SIL’s 40th Birthday and instantly knew the Dovecraft Kiss & Makeup papers would be perfect. They are feminine, modern and funky, and rather than make them all exactly the same, I used a few of the different papers in the collection to create 30 invites, in a colour scheme of pinks, purples and a pop of black. I kept the design simple as I needed to create 30 of them, but also in case I was asked to make any extras.
Step By Step:
I used my Cricut Explore to cut the large 2 layer icon ‘The Big 40’ for the front of the card, cutting the bottom layers from lilac, bright pink and black cardstocks. The ‘40’ pattern layer from various patterns in the Kiss & Makeup pack. (If you have a Cricut you can find the logo all sized for you here at my DS link: https://design.cricut.com/#/design/63112827)
A glue pen allowed me to layer up the Icon quickly and easily and I used 3D foam squares to attach each to 6x6 square white card blanks.
The ‘You’re Invited’ sentiment was die-cut from the matching cardstocks using First Edition Party Dies and adhered with a glue pen.
To finish, a metallic balloon (FE Party dies) was added to each card using 3D foam pad.
I printed an insert with all the time, place details and adhere inside with a small strip of d/s tape.
