Card inspired by the 3D Flower Template - Card shape of the month.
(The template can be downloaded off the blog).
I used the template and cut out the shape from some deep red card.
Cut a doily in white card from the First Edition doily set and glue to the card in just 2 places (either side of the crease) to allow the doily some movement for when the card lays flat and/or opens out.
Cut the same doily in green card and snip out the leaf pattern. Glue the base of each leaf stem into the same position that they are on the white doily. Again, don't glue the whole leaf down, just the base of the stem. You need to allow a little movement.
Roses cut from the First Edition layered flower die. These are rolled and glued and some red pigment ink brushed onto the petals.
Glue the roses to the top pair of leaves (which have been glued to the white doily by their stems).
Cut fancy corners in white card from the First Edition doily set and glue to either side of bottom section of the template.
Butterflies cut from Xcut cutting die and embellished with tear drop shape gems.
Glue a butterfly either side of front section of the template.
Glue 3rd butterfly to the top of a slim strip of acetate. Position the bottom of the strip of acetate behind the front of the bottom template and secure with glue. This allows the butterfly to appear to float in front of the flowers.
