Losing downloads in Win 7
With apologies to anyone to whom this might seem a bit 'suck those eggs Granny'...!
I'm having more and more peeps pm'ing me saying they 'lose' their downloads in Win7. Here's a screenshot of what you see when you go into your Explorer (NOT Internet Explorer - that's different!). If you look at the left hand pane, you will see your different categories and libraries. In the middle of that left hand pane are the ones you probably use the most; Libraries: Documents, Music, Pictures, videos. Then there is Homegroup, Computer and finally Network. But up at the top of the pane is another group entitled Favourites: which has Downloads, Recent Places, Libraries and Desktop. When you download something, unless you especially select where you want it to go, it will probably go into 'Downloads', so that's the place to look! This happens even if you right-click to 'snag' a piccie to paste in your graphics program - it will usually go into 'downloads' too. It's best to clean out your 'download' folder regularly and file stuff properly if you're keeping it or delete stuff if you aren't, otherwise it becomes unwieldy and you'll never find stuff in there.

I hope this helps anyone still a bit confused with Win 7 - it took me months to get my head around it!
Hugs,
Ei
