Trimcraft Points and Levels - a guide
Trimcraft Points, what are they?[/size:3btpk99e] Trimcraft points are a way of showing you exactly how active a member is in our community. The more points someone has, the more they're contributing! You can check how many points a user has by simply viewing their profile. The more points you have, the higher your Trimcraft Level. So how do I earn Trimcraft points?[/size:3btpk99e] Simply put, just use the Trimcraft site! :) The more you use it, the more points you'll receive. Below is a breakdown of exactly how many points you'll receive for any given activity you might perform on the site. It lists the most common awards, but not all of them - so other activies may still award you points - but we're not going to give all the details away here, you'll just have to find out for yourselves :P [list:3btpk99e] [*:3btpk99e]Becoming friends with another member - 3 points[/*:m:3btpk99e] [*:3btpk99e]Commenting on a video, project or product - 3 points[/*:m:3btpk99e] [*:3btpk99e]Posting in the forum - 2 points[/*:m:3btpk99e] [*:3btpk99e]Adding a new project to the gallery - 10 points[/*:m:3btpk99e] [*:3btpk99e]Writing in someones scrapbook - 2 point[/*:m:3btpk99e] [*:3btpk99e]Submitting a video to us that we publish - 20 points[/*:m:3btpk99e][/list:u:3btpk99e] What are Trimcraft levels?[/size:3btpk99e] To help you easier identify where you are ranked amongst all of the other users on Trimcraft, your points are converted to a star rank - from 1 star to 5 stars. When you register for a Trimcraft account[/url:3btpk99e] you'll start with 1 star (as you'll have no points!). The more points you get, the higher you'll rank. To get 5 stars, you need to be in the top 20% of users who contribute to the community. So basically, if you take the points from all the members in the community and organise them in a list with the users who have most points at the top - the 20% at the top of the list will be ranked 5 stars. The next 20% are ranked 4 stars, the subsequent 20% are 3 stars and so on. [list:3btpk99e] [*:3btpk99e]5 stars - top 20% of users based on number of points[/*:m:3btpk99e] [*:3btpk99e]4 stars - top 60-80% of users based on number of points[/*:m:3btpk99e] [*:3btpk99e]3 stars - top 40-60% of users based on number of points[/*:m:3btpk99e] [*:3btpk99e]2 stars - top 20-40% of users based on number of points[/*:m:3btpk99e] [*:3btpk99e]1 star - bottom 20% of users based on number of points[/*:m:3btpk99e][/list:u:3btpk99e] Why do Trimcraft Levels and Points matter?[/size:3btpk99e] We want you, the contributors - the ones who make our site what it is, to get recognition! You've put in the hard work and effort and we want you to get the credit :) Trimcraft points are currently used to help you identify members who are on the site to help make the community better for us all. Everyone will recognise a member who has 1000 points, over someone who has just 1. Those members who have lots of points, will therefore rank higher in the community. What's more, when you reach a 5 star rating - there's a special surprise in store for you on your profile page.... Just a way of making sure everyone knows you're a very highly valued member of the Trimcraft network that makes the site better for all of our users. In the future we'll be using Trimcraft points to give out extra rewards for our members :!: This may be in the form of multiple cometition entries, freebies, exclusive discounts at your favourite stockists. So start stocking up your Trimcraft points now!!! We hope you enjoy our community, and if you haven't done so already - make sure you register for a free Trimcraft account[/url:3btpk99e].[/size:3btpk99e]
