Re: Stampmaker - Do you have any questions?
I watched the video and I have questions... I'll start with these two... ;) I see the price for the kit listed and it is definitely what I call a considered purchase ...can you give us some idea of the cost of the consumables - the elements that we would need to replace once used up from the starter kit? Also wondering can you use ordinary photo negatives to make stamps with this system?

Re: Stampmaker - Do you have any questions?
Hi Christa The gel pack refills are £25 for a pack of 10 and the negative Paper is £10 for 10 sheets, you can fit 8 negatives on a sheet. These are the 2 elements you will need to replace. The machine won't work with photo negatives as you need to use the special photo paper to print on Hope this answered your questions Claire xx

Re: Stampmaker - Do you have any questions?
Thanks Claire that is really helpful... I know I am probably being really dense here, but I see that we would be able to download designs but how does it work with our own designs?

Re: Stampmaker - Do you have any questions?
I think you could just print from your pc to the special paper, it looks from the video like acetate sheets, but I'm sure Claire will confirm that. I'd love to replace my personalised Stamp that I use for the back of my cards. Will the replaceable items only be available via HobbyCraft? Thanks xx I can't find anywhere that this question has never been answered!

Re: Stampmaker - Do you have any questions?
I'm wondering if any UV lamp can be used or is there something special about this unit? There is no hobby craft anywhere near here...the nearest one is in Romford which is two buses, two trains and a half hour walk away...and its pretty rubbish once you get there  but if Caroline will be demoing this at some point then it might be worth trying to get over there just for that... Seeing it in person is way better than on a video...especially when there are the long pauses on the while the thing cures (or whatever you call it) Might want to fast forward that bit

Re: Stampmaker - Do you have any questions?
Hi Christa With the designs I made, I just made my stamp negative in a word document then you print it out on the special negative paper cut it out and your ready to go, It's just a standard UV lamp but you need the photopolymer gel packs and clamp to make the stamps. Hobbycraft sell the stampmaker online and it will go nationwide In September! They also sell the refill items Claire x x

[/quote:3bh6dqx2] Thanks Claire...great that designs can be made using Word...not needing specialised programmes definitely gives it a more universal appeal. We've already established that the gel packs are available separately because they need to be replaced as they are used up...but the clamp?

I was surprised at how quick and easy it is to make a stamp with the machine, when I watched the demo. :D

Re: Stampmaker - Do you have any questions?
I've just found the items on hobbycraft's website, it looks like you will be able to make your own embossing folders too. My guess it makes an Image and then hardens rather than stays soft like the stamps, but not heard anything about this anywhere! http://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/papercraft/ ... tampmaker/
