Re: What are you making?
Hi all Isn't it nice to see what other people are making. Well, I feel a bit of a failure/defeatist or whatever...I have given up on the Star Wars blanket. I had done about 120 out of the 625 squares, and decided reluctantly that I didn't want to go on with it....not at this stage anyway. I really found crocheting with the black wool a bit of a bind, as it was so dark to work with. Anyway after much deliberation I decided to put it away for a bit. My husband couldn't understand why I was so annoyed with myself...and especially as the grandson that I was doing it for didn't know about it. Anyway, on Monday we went Christmas shopping, and lo and behold, I spotted a Star Wars blanket...I bought it, and that made be feel 100% better. I have some socks on the go now, I bought the wool a while ago and so I started them at the knit and natter about 3-4 weeks ago, and took them again yesterday to crack on with. I don't knit during the day, so will pick this up just when I feel like it..If you have read any of my posts before, you will know that I 'dip in and dip out' of hobbies. Well done Irene on the win Lovely items for your grandchildren, Adrienne - the jumper looks lovely...my kind of colours! Annette, I bought a 'Buckley' Poppy a few years ago, but I always buy loads of poppies. Our youngest daughter is a Sargeant in the RAF and my OH ex military, so there is no way that I would not buy a poppy. We also bought one of the poppies from the display in London (which we went to see when they were displayed). My daughter, in fact, has just been informed that she will go on an unaccompanied detachment next year...to the Falklands. Fortunately only 4 months...her OH (ex RAF) and 4 year old daughter will remain at home. Thank goodness for Skype...and she can keep busy with her crochet and knitting..and there's plenty of sheep out there        Keep on posting the projects. I love looking. Angela

Re: What are you making?
Hi all Last night I started a very easy project. We bought our only grand-daughter a dolls pram for Xmas and I am crocheting her a pram blanket and pillow case. She loves pink so I am doing it pink and white. It's easy enough to do, just an oblong granny square. I am sure she will love it. I will let you see when it's finished. The socks are still on the go, but I will keep on with them at the knit and natter group. Angela

Re: What are you making?
Well I bought some catnip today so will be stuffing that into the cat toys I've made. Also found out that hats are needed for the prem baby unit where one of our WI ladies DIL works, so I'm doing those and some blankets too. Saw some wool in the wool shop yesterday that I absolutely fell in love with. Very expensive and I don't usually spend a lot on wool but as it's for me I decided I was worth it    So now I'm making myself a "potato chip" scarf which will probably be for the spring as the colours are knitting up a bit paler than I anticipated. Apparently they're called potato chip scarves cos like potato chips you can't just stop at one
So much to craft, so little time

Re: What are you making?
Cyndi, our cat loves catnip. In fact last weekend I bought her a catnip mouse from the craft fair we went to. Unfortunately she hasn't played with it much as our puppy keeps getting it and running away with it. I don't know what a potato chip scarf is..but it sounds interesting :?: . Re spending that bit more on the wool to knit for yourself..well we all deserve a treat from time to time. Irene, the tree decorations are lovely. I'm not sure what our puppy will make of a christmas tree...I can just imagine!!! I bet she will think that all the lovely baubles are for her to play with, and pull on one and the tree comes tumbling down. We never had a problem with the cat...she ignores it. The puppy is definitely more impish   Here's a picture of the simple granny blanket and pillow that I have just finished for our grand-daughter. I have made it for this rocking cradle that I picked up in a charity shop for £3...too good to miss. We will be seeing her soon as we are going to her 4th birthday party in a couple of weeks. It's not for her birthday, as we have bought her clothes, with her birthday being so close to Christmas. However, I am sure she will have fun playing with the cradle. I wasn't sure how to make a small pillow doing the squares, so ended up just doing the pillow like that! I think she will like the finished product though...she won't be looking for mistakes (at 4 year old, I hope not)   Anyone else on with anything? I would love to see! Angela

Re: What are you making?
I've started crocheting baby jackets for my coming great grand child, but I'm suffering with my hands and can only do a couple of hours here and there so I had better make second sizes When I've finished the first one I'll photograph it should be in about a month at the rate I'm progressing    However I have knitted some bobble hats for the Christmas shoe box appeal but you all know what bobble hats look like and we collected 28 at W.I. on Wednesday Mary x
all you need is love and chocolate
Thank you to everyone for the lovely comments I recieve on my Gallery Mary x
