UPDATED MARKETPLACE 'RULES' - PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING
I am updating this topic as a reminder to everyone who posts items for sale or buys in the Marketplace Forum. If you have posted items for sale previously, may I ask that you go back to those threads that you have started for the same subject / item for sale and either mark items as sold or ask us to lock the thread if it hasn't and you have decided to open a new thread. It's often the reason why the marketplace forum gets skipped because there are too many open threads but is not clear f item have sold and as they have not been noted. I am pretty sure there are many duplicated threads in this forum and if I had time I would go through and delete many of the old threads, but I don't. So the onus is upon the seller of the items to make sure you are keeping watch over that thread, or you may find it has just been deleted. You have no need to to keep making new threads for the same items, as you can 'bump' them up the forum by either posting a comment on your thread or simply by typing the word Bump and it will go further up the forum list. The marketplace is the only forum that were regularly lock threads. it's just to make it easier on anyone looking to see that items are no longer available. Locking posts in other Forums can be seen as looking messy, but it is the only way we can control the Marketplace Forum. if we have locked your thread and you wish it to be re-opened please ask a moderator and we can simply unlock it for you. So, there isn't always a need for you to open a new thread. Also if you put the same items on ebay/Facebook/gumtree etc, it is not for the moderators here to check that an auction or sale has ended or not. again, the onus is upon the seller of the item to ensure that all Marketplace threads are updated accordingly. TIPS FOR SELLING.....[/color:zisxfzbv] Describe your item accurately. If new, it has to be brand new and unused. If item comes with original packaging, state this too and whether packaging is damaged or not. Use good clear pictures. DO NOT USE THE GALLERY FOR ADDING YOUR SALES PICTURES - USE A PHOTO HOSTING SITE EG PHOTOBUCKET OR SIMILAR. If you are using photos of the item, for example from the Internet and not of the actual item, YOU MUST STATE THIS! State a price and quote how much postage will be or if its included in the price on EACH item. Also if you have more than one item, make it clear that you will be combine postage or not, but a buyer will need to know how much they are expected to pay for postage on a single item.. State if you are willing to accept reasonable offers There is no need to have a different thread for each sale, you can add items as you go. Make sure you keep up with your thread and answer any questions that are posted, or Pm'd. All payment arrangements to be discussed between seller and buyer by PM, do not post private or email addresses on the forum as these will be removed for your own safety. If you have the item for sale else where it's a very good idea to state this in the thread too. More sales take place where full description, good photos, full price or if you are willing to accept offers, and amount for postage are given against the item. No Business Sales as these will be regarded as Spam Threads may be locked or deleted by a Moderator if they feel a post is either spam, old and has had no updates. it's up to the seller to keep the threads clear and up to date. WHEN YOR ITEM HAS SOLD OR YOU NO LONGER WANT THE THREAD OPEN PLEASE EDIT THE TITLE TO READ [u:zisxfzbv]MODERATOR - PLEASE LOCK[/u:zisxfzbv] or Please just PM a Moderator asking them to lock or delete the post for you as required. TIPS FOR BUYERS - [/color:zisxfzbv] Ask questions. It's no good waiting until you have paid for something only to find it isn't what you wanted. If you would like more pictures, there's no harm in asking although it may not be possible to provide extra, as above ask questions..... If a seller does NOT state that offers are accepted, please DON'T OFFEND them by asking, and just because they are willing to accept an offer on one item doesn't mean they will be willing to do so on other items. as above.... Ask questions :) WANTED POSTS.....[/color:zisxfzbv] Once you have found your wanted item, please edit your post to say ' NOW FOUND' or SImilar s that the thread can also be locked We just want to keep the Forum a Fun and Safe place for all and that includes buying and selling unwanted items to each other and we can only keep this Marketplace Forum safe and fun with your cooperation. if anyone has anything they would like to add to this please do let me know Thank you all Rozzy xx

Re: UPDATED MARKETPLACE 'RULES' - PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING
Can I please ask that anyone who has or has had items in the Marketplace, but has not marked the post as sold please let me know if the items are still forsake or still wanted. The Marketplace needs a good tidy up as there are many unattended threads. Please don't assume that no one looks back further than page one and it doesn't matter if you haven't let us know your items are no longer available, because if you find your post has been deleted, it will be because its unattended. If you post something for sale or wanted, it is up to you to maintain that post until you no longer want it open and your responsibility to let a moderator know that it can now be closed. As I have said above, the marketplace is the only Forum section that we like posts to be locked when they are no longer needed. If your post is locked or deleted it will be because I haven't heard from you or you haven't edited your thread to say please lock/close/delete Thank you all for your help in this. it helps keep the forum tidy Thanks rozzy xx

Re: UPDATED MARKETPLACE 'RULES' - PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING
You will notice we have locked all posts 2008-2012. If any of you would like your thread unlocked as it should still be live just leave us a PM and we will unlock it for you ;) or leave us a message here. Those threads that are still live, if you guys want to add a post to them to let everyone know they are still available, that way it will bump it up the list and keep all the live posts in the first 2 pages ;) Thanks  x

Re: UPDATED MARKETPLACE 'RULES' - PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING
re: selling free gifts that come with magazines, ie. mainly rubber /clear stamp sets copied from post. viewtopic.php?f=12&t=47649&start=10#p433801 there seems to be some confusion as to wether you are allowed to sell these free gifts that came with magazines, especially things like rubber/clear stamp sets.... Some say you must not sell them as it states on the pack, not for resale, some say you can if you sell the magazine with it, and basically many others are very confused by the whole issue and don't want to get involved or say they must not be sold at all..... I have spoken to people on FB and on Trimcraft and i suggested that a few of us contact our local Trading standards to get the official guidance..... I have just come off the phone to Lincolnshire County Council Trading standards and explained all this to them and they advised me that if you are the rightful owner, that you have bought the magazine, or you have been given the stamps as a gift even, you have every right to sell them as you wish to. There is no need to sell the magazine along with the gift/stamps/other The 'not for resale' Quoted on these items is just a recommendation of the Company and is not a statement of law. So based on the information that i have just been given, you are doing nothing wrong by selling such items. I do however suggest that other people contact their local trading standards too, to make sure we are all being given the same information. i hope this helps... i have no ideal where the info came from on FB that it wasnt allowed, and of course what happens over there does have an impact on the forum. But I do urge as many as possible to do as I did and phone your local council trading standards. they dont mind being asked these questions, thats what they are there for. The lady i spoke to used the example to me....she must has children as she said if you collect the toys from Mc Donalds, it will say the same on their packs most probably but if you have bought the meal and the gift comes with it, its yours to do with as you please..... the quote 'not for resale' is just put on by the magazines as they don't want you to sell it, but in law they cant do anything about it. I hope this is of some help to you all, but please do call your local office, it would be interresting to find out in case anyone is told anythng different, please feel free to share on any FB groups if it helps, please copy it from my FB rather than here. xx:hug: .
