Scan N Cut issues?

Hello everyone! I recently got a Scan n Cut SDX85C and have been using it to cut some custom cards. I've had two big issues, and maybe someone here can help me with this.

First, the cards are in a 3x3 grid. The top six cards will cut just fine, but the bottom lines of the bottom cards will only partially cut. This wasn't the case at the beginning, which makes me wonder if this is a sign that my blade is wearing out. But if that's the case, why does it only affect the bottom row of cards?

Second, I understand that it has to make multiple passes as my material is thick (laminated cardstock, which comes in just around the 3mil cutting depth that I picked it out for). The problem is that sometimes the cuts don't align and are off by a small fraction of a distance. This can happen where I have complete cuts AND where I have incomplete cuts, so I don't think this is related to the first problem. Is there something I am doing wrong in this regard, or is it just a quirk of the machine?

Any assistance to this newbie is much appreciated!
