Best crafting mat/sheet?
Hi treasures, I've just posted a thread in the general crafting forum "How cool is THIS?!!! Washi tape" and I can't wait to get started on making my own tape. I could use a plastic placemat but it would irritate me that it kept sliding around. I'd like a sheet similar to the one under the placemat; it looks as though you could wipe it down for all sorts of messy madness. What's the best mat/sheet in your opinion? Do you have to tape them down or do they stay in place? Could you use a heat gun in connection with one? Thanks in advance, anni x

This [url:nab5kjc3]http://www.affixitcraft.co.uk/Non-Stick-Heat-Resistant-Craft-Mat-s/1853.htm[/url:nab5kjc3] is what I have Anni and its fab... Its non stick, mess proof, heat proof and fabulous. You can put ink directly on it when you are working and its perfect for art journal inky type work as well as the sticky stuff. Sticky and inky just wipes right off. If you look at the deals of the day on that site they have adhesive bundles for £15 that include two of these. It has free p&p too but that may only apply to the UK...might be worth checking out though

Re: Best crafting mat/sheet?
I agree with Christa. That mat is 30x30cm in size. I hope that Affixit will be able to supply to you as they are great value for money. If not perhaps they will have a stall at Ally Pally. If you need a larger mat Woodware do one that is 50x33cm and is a similar thing. I have both and use them all the time as a base for messy work. I got the small one recently but the Woodware one is a couple of years old and still going strong.

Anni If you really can't wait a baking sheet is an acceptable temporary alternative. I used one for distress inking for a while till I went to a craft show and bought the proper thing.
