DIY Dovecraft Washi Tape Rosettes Tutorial

What you Need

Dovecraft Washi Tape, Gold Mirror Card, With Love die, 5x7 Kraft Card Blank

First Edition Textured Card Stock, Scalloped Circle Die Set

How to Make

1.  Cut 2 pieces of 50cm Dovecraft Gold Washi Tape. Stick each piece together so that the patterned design is facing the front and back.

2.  Next, cut a black circle slightly bigger than a Washi Tape roll from the First Edition Textured Card Stock pad. Cut small pieces of Dovecraft Perma Fix tape and add them across your circular card.

3.  Take one end of your Dovecraft Washi tape strip and begin to pleat it around the circle, making sure to do tightly fold your Washi as you go round.

4.   Die cut the smallest die from the First Edition Scalloped Circle die set onto a black sheet from the First Edition Textured Card Stock pad. Adhere this to the centre of your rosette.

5.  Next, die cut the ‘With Love’ Dovecraft die onto a piece of Dovecraft Gold Mirror card. Glue this to the centre of your rosette.

6.  Repeat Step one, using an alternative Dovecraft Washi Tape design and only measuring it at 30cm. Once done, fold your Washi Tape strip in half, add Dovecraft Perma Fix tape to the back of your rosette and attach your folded Washi Tape strip.

7.  Cut a small triangle out from each end of your Washi Tape strip to create the look of ribbon.

8.  Stick a variety of Dovecraft Washi Tape designs to create a diagonal pattern on a 11.5cm x 15.5cm piece of black First Edition Textured card stock.

9.  Cut off the excess and adhere your sheet to the centre of a 5 x 7 Dovecraft Kraft card blank. To finish, stick down your rosette at an angle on your card.

You could make a larger Washi Tape rosette for your fridge! For this we have used First Edition Alphabet dies on Dovecraft glitter card to achieve the perfect sparkle. We have then cut out a magnetic sheet to fit the size of the rosette. This positive project will always be sure to make you smile!

Alternatively, you could scale it down to create an adorable accessory! We have used the same technique but for this, we have cut out a heart shape for the centre to create a sweet look!

We’d love to see your Dovecraft Washi Tape rosettes so remember to upload them to the project gallery and to #trimcraft when uploading to social media!
