You might think it is too early to start thinking
about Christmas but every crafter knows it is never too early to star making. To
get you prepared for the all festivities, we have made a free printable
template so you can make the advent pockets ease.

How to Make
Apply a layer of First Edition Gloss Adhesive to your
wooden hanger and cut or tear pieces of First Edition Deco Mache paper to the
hanger, slightly overlapping each piece. Add another layer of adhesive on top
of the decoupage paper to seal the paper.
Tip: If you do not
have white wooden hanger, paint the hanger with white paint to create a base
for the papers.
Download your free template and cut out 24 pockets using
a mixture of Dovecraft Glad Tidings Paper, glue the folds together, leaving the
top flap open so you can pop treats inside.
3. We have then
decorated the pockets with a variety of embellishments including sentiment toppers, stickers,
wooden shapes and frames to jazz up the advent calendar and make it really
festive. We also die some baubles and poinsettias using the Dovecraft Steel Die- Baubles and poinsettias set with Glad Tidings papers to
decorate some of the treat pockets. Don’t be afraid to mix your
embellishments up! Die cut the numbers 1-24 using the First Edition Alphabet die set using the red Dovecraft A4 card and glue the numbers to 24 circles cut using the Dovecraft A4 kraft card. We have then added them to each advent pocket using foam squares.
4. Cut 24 strips
of twine and add to back of the pockets, we used double sided tape for ours
and covered with a strip of coordinating paper to create a professional finish.
Tie the pieces of twine to the hanger at varying lengths and enjoy adding
little treats inside the pockets.
5. To finish, we
have attached a snowflake wooden charm to the top of the coat hanger with
a piece of butcher twine and made a bow with some festive ribbon

Calendar? We would love to see your version of
