Hi, I’m Henriëtte van Mierlo. I live in the Netherlands with my boyfriend Robert and my 12 year old daughter. I work part-time in administration and in my spare time I love to craft, especially card making.I’ve been making cards for many years, starting with 3d cards (learning by watching my mother make those). Nowadays most of my cards have a digital stamp on it that I colour in Photoshop (a magical tool). Sometimes I also watercolour a stamped image. Today I’m sharing with you a project I made using decorative wooden words, First Edition Neroli papers and embellishments. What You Will Need• Wooden word sign (I bought mine at a local store for less than a pound)• Sanding paper• Paint • Papers• EmbellishmentsStep 1: Sand the wood and paint it with a few layers of white paint Step 2: Trace around the letters on the paper, cut them out and glue them on the wood.Step 3: Now the fun part starts, decorate the letters with all kinds of embellishments like flowers, ribbons, twine, wooden ornaments, pearls etc. The possibilities are endless. You can hang this on a wall or as my daughter did, put on a bookshelf. I also made one with the word “home”.Many times it feels that there simply aren’t enough hours in the day to do everything I would like to do but this is an easy project that can be nice to do with the kids.We love the Neroli papers and how Henriette has introduced them into the home so they can be enjoyed all year round.
