What a lovely start to autumn! I’ve been busy crafting with the adorable Dovecraft Bee Happy collection and I’ve made lots of cards for friends and family with this kit – I think it’s one of my all-time favourites!
I replicated a card I made during a Create and Craft TV demo for my Aunt’s birthday card using the washi tapes and the adorable gold bee charm. What’s not to love?!
I’ve been channelling autumn in the kitchen too. I made oaty bites for the office Macmillan Bake Off fundraising event. I didn’t emerge as star baker, but I got to eat some yummy treats so that’s fine by me!
These are filled with a raspberry and rhubarb compote which has to be my favourite fruit combination. I hope to make these with home grown rhubarb soon as I just planted some in my garden.
I’ve been watching the pennies as we get closer to Christmas, so I’ve made my own face scrub instead of buying it. These would make a great festive gift too! The ingredients list and method are on my blog if you wanted to give this a try yourself.
With Halloween upon us I had a lovely crafternoon with the kids too. I took some time off over half term and really enjoyed getting crafty with my two. We downloaded the free Halloween papers from the Craft Blog and made a wreath for the front door.
As the nights draw in I am really looking forward to spending time in my craft room with the brand new First Edition paper pads which are launching soon. The colours in the Wanderlust pad are divine – so rich and decadent! I think this is going to be perfect for my Mum’s birthday card in November, and also for my Father in Law’s card as there are some lovely designs in there that would be perfect for masculine makes.
Launching at the same time is Beyond the Shore and I am brimming with ideas for this pad. I have some scrapbook layouts in mind as well as 3D cards and some upcycling/home décor projects, so I can’t wait to get started.
I will also need to start thinking about festive decorations too. Trouble is I will probably have more ideas than I have time to make them!
I can't wait to see what you've been making with these collections when you start uploading them to the Inspiration area.
