The last few weeks have been quite varied giving me chance
to catch up on project write ups and magazine features as well as crafting and
show appearances.
I have started uploading pictures to my project gallery on
the web site. With over 250 projects so far created for samples, demos, videos and
product familiarisation, I don’t think there’s any chance of me adding all of
them. However, I’ve chosen my favourites and am working through updating them
with step by step instructions and measurements where necessary.

I’ve also added images of most of my projects to my
Trimcraft Pinterest board and where possible have linked the images back to the
show they were created on so you can still watch how they were made.
This month I also got to play with some brand new products
and prepare samples and inspiration for a magazine feature. Publishing
schedules mean that most magazines are working on issues three or four months
in advance so the projects I made won’t be featured until February but I am
sure they will be worth the wait. I fell in love with the washi tape patterns
as soon as I saw them and it was difficult to decide on just three projects to
share. I could have made hundreds!

I was also invited by Create & Craft to attend a guest
training course which was great fun. I got to meet some fantastic fellow crafters
too. Most of them were new and haven’t appeared on screen yet so it was nice to
be able to draw on my experience so far and share some hints and tips with them.
It feels like it has been a very steep learning curve being
on television and I’ve already acquired so many new skills and knowledge from
being in the studio, chatting to the presenters and of course the other guests
on the channel. Some of the guests on the training course were nervous about
being new to Create & Craft but the green room is a fantastic place to
share tips, seek advice and make new friends.
Regular guests on the channel, including Corrine, Carly and Suzi from
Cricut, have been fantastically supportive and everyone, without exception, has
been very welcoming. I am sure the new guests will settle right in and I am looking
forward to seeing their first shows.

I met with the
marketing team again this month and filmed two more You Tube videos with
Claire, our marketing manager. I love being able to show how things are created
and give crafters inspiration for their own makes. Watch out for a trapeze card
demonstration using the exquisite new Couture du Jour collection and
instructions for a Christmas card holder using decoupage techniques. Both will be shared on the Trimcraft social
media channels soon.

Finally this month, my craft room cupboard has had a bit of
a makeover. I am a messy crafter (actually I am messy whether I am crafting or
not!!) but I am trying to bring a sense of order to the chaos. I am very lucky
to have been able to take over the dining room at home and convert it into my
craft space. I have kitted it out with a new desk and lots of storage but I
don’t think it will ever be ‘finished’. I am constantly thinking of new ways to
make it more organised and tidier and am always adding to the space. Last
weekend I painted the cupboard doors on my unit, choosing to make one into a
magnetic chalkboard using several coats of magnetic primer and a top coat of
blackboard paint. I painted the second door with white chalk paint and added
adhesive magnetic strips covered with washi tape. This is now the perfect place
to keep my dies to hand when crafting.

Come back next month and there will be something new to see
I am sure!
I’ve set up new profiles on each of these channels so please
tell me what you think of the shows and show me what you’re making at
