It’s time to meet one of our newest Trimcraft team members, our fabulous Junior Graphic Designer, Luke!
How long have you been at Trimcraft?
Less than 3 months.
What is your job role within the company?
I am a Junior Graphic Designer.
What three words would best describe you?
Handsome, visionary, sarcastic!
What is an average day like at Trimcraft?
It may sound cliché but there is no average day at Trimcraft. Some days I could be designing paper pads and washi tapes, other days I could be making visuals for products and creating presentations. The only real constant in a working day at Trimcraft is cake… “They say at Trimcraft you are never more than 6ft from a cake…”
What’s the best thing about working for Trimcraft?
Aside from the design work, which I love, I would have to say the best thing about working for Trimcraft is the people (whom I am also greatly fond of). I feel that at Trimcraft I can be the person I am without fear of judgement.
What's your favourite part of working within a team?
Collaborating with other designers and bouncing ideas off of one another is the best thing about working in a team.
What is your favourite Trimcraft product, why?
I am a fan of WOW embossing powder, as it adds a really nice sheen to your creations.
What has been your proudest achievement at Trimcraft?
Without a shadow of a doubt, my proudest achievement is being crowned Star Baker at our Great Trimcraft Bake Off!
What are your favourite hobbies?
In my spare time I like to draw and paint – I’m currently working on a children’s book that I hope will one day be published.
What inspires you to create?
I am heavily influenced by the work of children’s illustrators such as Jon Klassen, Benji Davies and Andrew Kolb, and have a vast collection of illustrated children’s books. I love to create narrative through illustration, and use that as a tool to impart my knowledge and life experiences.
If you had a million pounds how would you spend it?
I would treat my family and my partner to a relaxing break in a faraway sunny location. Without them I would not be the person I am today, and although I owe them a lot more than £1 million, a nice holiday would be a great way to show my gratitude!
Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us?
For those of you that follow the Trimcraft Instagram and Facebook page you may have seen a wicked witch skulking around on Halloween. Well… that was me! (If you knew me personally you would know that dressing up is not out of character)
