Free Printable Spring Themed Papers Plus Crafty Inspiration

We're back with another of our Free Papers downloads - just the ticket to keep you occupied when we're all staying home...

This month we've gone for a cutesy spring theme, featuring sweet bunnies, flowers, gingham and more - idea for cards, gift wrap, happy mail, scrapbooking and anything else you can think of!

Need to keep the kids busy? Print out some of these and let them go to town - it'll distract them from wanting to cut up "mum/gran's pretty paper"... at least for a while!

Now - onto some projects we've created with this month's free downloads - to get you inspired and ready to create...

If there's ever been a great time to make some happy mail projects, it's now! Most of us can still get to the post box, so why not send your friends something cute to keep them smiling? This extra-large tag could be just the ticket!

To start this project, we created a tag using the We R Memory Keepers Tag Punch Board and the speckled blue paper from the free download set. Using the We R Memory Keepers 1 2 3 Punch Board, we created a bow using the largest measurements and the gingham patterned paper, also from the download set. Next, we fussy cut the Hello Spring topper from the topper sheet, along with several flowers from the yellow flower patterned paper. These were all attached to the tag, a few with foam tape for added dimension, and then the project was finished off with some dots of Dovecraft Pearl Effects and some Dovecraft Ribbon and tulle ribbon from our stash!

Trimcraft Tip: You can smooth out dots of Dovecraft Pearl Effects, 3D Enamel Effects, and Glitter Glue, making them more rounded and even, by gently flicking your project from the back side once you have applied the product.

Our second example project was made with Easter in mind! Everyone loves their Easter chocolate - but Easter eggs can be expensive, not to mention the ridiculous excess packaging... and general lack of chocolate some actually contain..! To Easter-up this leftover bar of Christmas chocolate (yes - we know - we're not sure how we have leftover Christmas Galaxy either!) we created this cute little decorated sleeve to pop over our chocolate bar.

To make this, we first measured our chocolate bar to see what size to make the wrap. You will need to trim a strip of the dotted patterned paper included in the download to your preferred width (we went for 3 inches), then score 4 lines which correspond to where the folds will need to be. Join the two ends together at the back so they won't be seen, then decorate how you wish - we used more toppers from the topper sheet and some Dovecraft 3D Enamel Effects for the bunny's cheeks and nose!

For the last project today we went for a classic - a birthday card! Now's a great time to make a bunch of birthday cards to last you throughout the year, and this design can be adapted to use any patterns, so it's ideal for using up scraps of paper and ribbon, too.

Start with a Dovecraft 6"x6" Kraft Card Blank, then trim 4 squares of 2"x2" paper from 4 of the patterns in the download set. Cut each of these in half with your paper trimmer so you have 8 triangles of patterned paper, then lay them out in the same pattern as you see on the card above. Trim 2 pieces of ribbon to fit on your card front - we cut the ends into fishtails to prevent fraying - then attach using Dovecraft Perma Fix Tape. To finish your card, fussy cut 4 bunnies from the bunny patterned paper sheet and attach with foam tape, then fussy cut the Happy Birthday sentiment and mount this in the centre of your card. As a final touch, we added Dovecraft Glitter Glue to the inside of the bunnies' ears for some extra sparkle!
