June Craft Diary by Kathy Hodson

There’s so much excitement in my craft room this month with the arrival of two brand new papercraft collections!

What could be more fun than a range dedicated to the beach? A range dedicated to the beach designed by the hugely talented Helz Cuppleditch, that’s what! I’ve been crafting with this collection ahead of its launch on Create and Craft at the end of this month (29th June, 10am and 9pm) and I’ve been in my element.

The decoupage pad has eight amazing designs with the cutest characters, and the papers are so bright and fun. The wooden toppers made me gasp with delight the first time I saw them and they look amazing on my beach scrapbook layout.

I couldn’t resist making a pop up card with the fab dies, particularly the ice cream, and the adorable images fussy cut from the paper pad. The rubber rings, ice creams, shells and bunting paper designs even have glitter on them!

Our Design Team also received their collections last week and they’ve already been busy making projects and uploading them to the gallery. Martina has created a windbreak card with the Helz Cuppleditch Beach Life collection, which is a really fun use of the papers and embellishments!

It’s such an opulent collection with glittered embellishments, an irresistible stamp and die set and gold foiled paper designs - I could just put some of those papers straight onto my wall!

They’re perfect for card making, gift bags, gift boxes and so much more.  I made a few for my show samples as this collection will be on the same show as the Beach Life collection. I will also be showing the Dovecraft Lost & Found collection, and Botanical Beauty and Let’s Celebrate First Edition paper pads. It’s going to be a busy show with so many crafting delights!

Finally this month, I’ve made sure to vote for Trimcraft in the International Craft Awards. Choosing my favourite craft blog was easy!  It would be amazing if the team behind The Craft Blog got some industry recognition for the incredible work they do to keep us inspired, not to mention all you lovely crafters who populate the gallery with your amazing projects!

Choosing my favourite Trimcraft papercraft range on the other hand was quite a challenge. There are so many amazing collections – Bee Happy, Nature’s Grace, Victoria & Albert….which one are you going to vote for?
