3 Creative Ways To Use The New Dovecraft Feather Die

What you Need

Dovecraft Dies- Feather, Dovecraft Clear Sentiment Stamps, Washi Tape, C6 Card Blank, A4 White Card Stock

First Edition Textured Card Stock

How to Make

1.Begin by cutting down a piece of Dovecraft A4 white card down to 15.5cm x 10.5cm. Line the two feather dies to the centre of your vertical card, ensuring to have the largest die in the middle and to leave space for another die cut on the left hand side. Carefully die cut your feathers then place the smallest die to the left of your diecuts  and put your card through the die cutting machine again.

2.Take another sheet of Dovecraft A4 white card and cut it down to 15cm x 10cm. Place your chosen strips of Dovecraft Washi tape across the middle of card, ensuring to stick enough strips to fill the gaps where the feather apertures will be.

3.Adhere the die cut card to the top of your washi strips with glue.

4.Cut a  16cm x 11cm piece of  blue First Edition Textured card stock and glue it down to the centre of your Dovecraft C6 card blank. Stick your die cut card to the card blank with 3D foam tape to add dimension.

5.Beneath your feather die cuts, stamp the ‘Best Wishes’ sentiment from the Dovecraft Clear Stamps set, to finish.

Why not add add a classy feel to your card! Maxine added a gold washi tape border to her card blank. Next, she added strips of  gold washi tape to a piece of white card, die cut three Dovecraft feathers on top and stuck the finished die cuts in a line to a piece of white card. To add dimension, she added foam tape to the back and adhered it to the centre of her card blank. To add a little glitz, she added a Simply Creative gem to the top of each feather!

Dies don’t just have to be used for card making projects, why not create a home décor wreath? Maxine has used the new First Edition Wild at Heart papers and die cut approximately 86 feathers from a selection of paper designs. She then wrapped the feathers around a pencil to create dimension and layered her patterned feathers to a piece of circular card.

These fluttering projects are truly beautiful and can be used for a variety of occasions, you can use a new papercraft collection or a different washi design to get a completely new look!
