Wild at Heart Acetate Happy Birthday Card Tutorial

What You Need

First Edition Wild at Heart 8” x 8” Paper pad

First Edition Border Dies

Dovecraft 6” x 6” Kraft Card Blank,  ‘Happy Birthday’ Sentiment Die

Simply Creative Alphabet Stickers – Classic Foil Copper

How to Make

1.  Begin by cutting the 6” x 6” Dovecraft kraft card blank down to 12cmx 15cm wide. Make sure that the card crease is at the top.

2.  Next, take the front of the card and cut across one of the card flaps so there is 2.5cm left at the top, creating a smaller flap.

3.  Cut a sheet of Dovecraft Acetate cut down to 12.5cm x 15cm, make sure that the lengths match the measurements of your card. Then match up the acetate with your card and stick the acetate sheet to the inside of the flap with Dovecraft Perma Fix tape.

4.  Cut a 12cm x 2cm piece of the blue stag design from the First Edition Wild at Heart 8x8 paper pad and stick it to the top of the flap.

5.  Take a piece of the dictionary style paper from the Wild at Heart paper pad and cut this down to 12.5cm x 15cm. Again, make sure that this matches the measurements you have used for the card blank.

6.  Stick this to the inside of the card blank so the design will show through the acetate.

7.  With the First Edition Border Dies cut out 2 borders using a coordinating sheet in the Wild at Heart paper pad. Glue these dies horizontally across the flap on your card, underneath the stag design.

8.  Die cut the Dovecraft ‘Happy Birthday’ Sentiment Die on the same paper used for the border dies.

9.  In the centre of the acetate flap glue down the die cut sentiment using Dovecraft clear ultimate glue.

10.  Cut off a corner from a striped sheet within the First Edition Wild at Heart pad. This should leave you with a triangle shape. Stick this with glue to the bottom left hand corner on the front of the card.

11.  Finally, finish off the craft by adhering the Simply Creative Copper Foil Alphabet Stickers to the bottom right corner of your card so that it reads, ‘Son’.

TIP This can be changed to any sentiment depending on the occasion you’re crafting for!
