Easel cards are great to make if you are new to cardmaking and
adding acetate will give a different and effective look to your card designs.
What You Will Need
Dovecraft 5” x 5” white card blanks x 2
Dovecraft Bohemian 12” x 12” & 8” x 8” paper pads
Dovecraft Bohemian Printed Butterflies, clear stamp - bird,
gems & pearls
Dovecraft A4 acetate sheet
Dovecraft double sided tape & foam squares
How to Make
1.
Take one of the card blanks and with the crease at the top draw a
4cm line down the side of the card and across the bottom. Cut out the
rectangle. Cut a piece of acetate to 25.2 cm x 17.7cm and score it at
12.7cm, stick to the card blank.
2.
Take the second card blank and draw a 4cm line from the centre on
the longest edge and cut along it. Stick the thin strip to the card blank to make the
easel part of the card.
TIP: Stick to the inside of the card to
cover the acetate join.
3.
With your chosen patterned paper, cut out an
L-shape to cover the inside of your card, giving a small amount of allowance.
We have used the same pattern paper cut the same patterned paper to
17.5cm x 12.5cm and stuck to the opposite card blank.

4.
We
have then upcycled the corner of the Dovecraft Bohemian 8” x 8” paper pad cover
cut to 17.8cm x 12.7cm to create a corner border. Stick this to the front of
the acetate with double sided tape.
5.
To
decorate the card, we have added three printed butterflies to the inside of the
card and another three to the front of the acetate. We have then added cut out
butterflies from the Dovecraft Bohemian 12” x 12” x 8” x 8” paper pad front
covers and gently bend the wings before sticking on top of the butterfly
toppers. Also layer some butterflies on top of the corner border.

6.
Cut
a 15.3cm x 4.3cm piece of white cardstock and layer with a 15cm x 3.9cm piece
of Dovecraft Bohemian striped glitter paper. Stick down onto the back of your
card, this will act as a stopper for the top section.
7.
Stamp
the ‘Love & Wishes’ sentiment onto a piece of 11cm x 1.5cm white cardstock
and cut a fish tail at one end. Stick the sentiment at to the striped card at
an angle using foam pads. For a finishing touch, add a butterfly topper to the
left side of stamped paper and layered with a cut out a glitter
butterfly from the Dovecraft Bohemian 12” x 12” cover.
