5 Die Cutting Top Tips

1. Try cutting your die cut shapes to make a different shape to use such as cutting the horse die to use it as a horse or umbrella, this way you get much more value from your dies.

2. For a different look try adding ink. You can also get a layered effect by inking the centre of the die before you take it out of the die cutter

3. To add more dimension to your card projects try decoupaging die cuts with foam squares or silicon glue, this will give you a lovely 3D effect. Also try layering with different print papers for a mixed media look.

4. Use sticky notes for holding the die in place on your paper or card.  The sticky notes won't damage anything it is holding onto, it has the perfect amount of stick. Washi tape is also a good alternative.

5. For intricate dies always use wax paper between the die and cardstock/paper stock you are cutting out. If you have no wax paper then rub a tumble dryer sheet over the inside of the die to give a bit of lubricant to help release the die.
