Brand New Launch: All About The New Cricut Joy Electronic Cutting Machine

Hi everyone, Claire here! I have some very exciting news to share with you today from Cricut.

You may have seen that social media was alight last week with the launch of the new Cricut Joy machine. I was lucky enough to go to Manchester to a meet and greet and the launch of the machine and I have some photos from the day to share with you! I have also made two videos that you can see on my YouTube channel.

As the UK distributor for Cricut, we at Trimcraft have known about new machine for a few months but have been sworn to secrecy, a very tough secret to keep… they even had a code word we had to use! When we travelled to Frankfurt for Creativeworld we were invited into the super confidential room to see the machine in action. We were not disappointed, it was smaller and cuter than I expected.

Last week I was lucky enough to be invited along to the launch in Manchester, where Cricut were holding a meet and greet as well as launching the product live right across the world! We had a great time at the event, mingling with other Cricut fans, there was a great buzz around the launch and everyone was very excited when the new machine was launched. I think everyone automatically thought of projects this machine would be great for!

So let me tell you some really great things about this machine!

No more mats

Firstly, Cricut have developed their smart cutting technology where you don’t need a cutting mat! This is a game changer, the lack of mats really speeds up the time it takes to create and you are no longer restricted to the length of the project you can cut, this will be great for long banners and decorations. You can cut an image up to 4ft long and repeat that to 20ft.

Small and mighty

It is small, compact and mighty, this machine is only 8’’ by 5’’ but can cut all your favourite materials like vinyl, iron on, infusible ink and card. It can also draw, just pop the pen into the holder, select your design and off you go.

Customisable designs

The machine works using the Cricut design space app, it is super easy to use and can be used on your phone, tablet or computer. You can make use of their free designs, upload your own or subscribe to the monthly subscription where you get unlimited fonts and designs for roughly £7.99 a month ($9.99)

Great accessories

There are a lot of cool accessories too including a tote bag, special patented mats for cutting greetings cards and some really cool pen colours.

Super versatile

This machine has a lot of functionality built into it, you can customise stationery, accessories, clothing and more. At £179 it is around the same price as an electronic die cutting machine, however this machine has a lot more function and versatility, with welding, slicing, flipping and resizing the options for projects really are endless. This is the kind of machine you will wonder what you did without it!

This machine would be perfect for families for customising and personalising their belongings and gift making, no more running to Etsy for your handmade gifts, you can create professional looking pieces in minutes. If you love labelling items including cleaning supplies, stationery, anything that moves then this is the machine for you, create custom stickers in your favourite colours at the touch of a button. Every school and office would benefit from a Cricut Joy to easily make those custom jobs that you usually order online.

The Cricut Joy is available from the 1st March 2020 and you can find the link to buy here

If you have any questions on the machine just drop your question below and we will answer any queries you have!
