Advent Calendar Day 20 – Easy Gift Box Tutorial with Free Template

We are so close to Christmas, crafters! Here’s Day 20’s advent treat for you, which is a super easy gift box tutorial with a free template to make this a really quick craft ahead of the big day.

This is a great tutorial for anyone looking to make a quick and easy gift box, and what makes it so great is that it only requires one sheet of paper! Ideal for beginners and advanced crafters alike, this box uses our free template as a guide, which you can find a link to below.

This box looks just the part when cut from Christmassy paper, but it doesn’t just have to be for Christmas, you can use different papers to suit any theme, event or season!

 

You will Need

First Edition Winter Wishes 12”x12” Paper Pad

Dovecraft Bone Folder

Dovecraft Perma-Fix Tape

Dovecraft Christmas Ribbon

Ruler

 

1.  Using the template, cut a piece of the beautiful First Edition Winter Wishes paper to shape.

2. Score the net of the box along the score lines using a bone folder and ruler.

3. Fold the net to form the box shape.

4. Adhere the sides of the box with double-sided tape. You should now have your finished box shape!

5. Finish your gift box design with Christmassy ribbon.

Your box is now ready to fill with a surprise for Christmas. This is a perfect-sized box for gifting jewellery, sweets or smaller trinkets. You could also get really creative with the box and decorate it with bows, adhesive gems or stickers!
