What
You Will Need
Dovecraft
A4 black, white and kraft cardstock
Dovecraft
6”x 6” Kraft card blank
Dovecraft
Foam
First
Edition Alphabet Die Set
Dovecraft
Chalk markers
How
to Make
1.
With a piece of black card, cut a 14.5cm square and stick to the
front of the card blank with double sided tape.

2.
We have then cut 5 pieces of foam in yellow, pink, blue, green and
red to 6cm x 1.5cm strips. Cut a point at one end to create a pencil shape and
we have then cut the corners off the bottom. Cut a small triangle using kraft
card, cut the point off and create a jagged edge on the other side to create
the wooden section of the pencil. Add the cut kraft paper to the top of each
foam strip, leaving a small triangle at the top to show the foam pencil tip.
Stick the foam pencils in a row at the bottom centre of the card.

3.
Use the white chalk marker to draw a line around the edge of the
black card to create a border.
4.
To finish, we have die cut the words ‘Back to School’ with the
First Edition Alphabet Varsity dies on white card and stuck to the top section
of the card.
Paper Satchel

What You Will Need
Me to You Tiny Tatty Teddy – Girl 12”x 12” Paper Pack
Dovecraft Double Sided Tape (3mm)
Download your Back to School Satchel Template here
How to Make
1.
Print out the free template and cut out the sections. Cut a piece
of the pink polka dot paper to 27.2cm x 26.3cm and use the Back to School
Satchel Template as a guideline for the shape. The body of the satchel is 27.2cm
x 11.9cm.
2.
To create the base of the satchel and the score lines for the side
panels, score across paper from the satchel flap to 13.6cm and 16.8cm. Add
0.5cm onto the side panels to get the internal joints and cut away the excess
paper. Make two score lines where the side panels meet the base and stick the
sections together to create the 3D satchel.
3.
Cut the multi-coloured number paper to 10.1cm x 11.9cm and stick
over the original satchel flap and cut off any excess paper. This will give the
satchel flap more support.
4.
Cut the Tiny Tatty Teddy pale pink paper to 9.3cm x 12.1cm and use
the pocket template as a guideline for the shape. From the front pocket flap,
score downwards at 2.7cm, 3.1cm, 7.7cm and 8.2cm. This will create the back for
the pocket. From the side, score at 0.5cm, 1cm, 8.3cm and 8.9cm. Where the base
and side panels meet, score the small section and cut. Stick the sections
together to create the 3D pocket.

5.
With the polka dot paper, cut to 11.1cm x 2.5cm, again using the
bow template as a design outline. Stick double sided tape to the inside and
outside of one end and join both ends together. Cut the multi-coloured number
paper to 2.6cm x 0.8cm and wrap around the centre of the bow and stick the ends
together at the back. Stick the bow to the centre of the satchel pocket and
then add to bottom section of the satchel.
6.
With the pale green rose paper, cut a strip to 9.4cm x 1.1cm and
cut the ends into a curve. Gently score the strip of paper at 1.7cm, 2.1cm, 8.1cm
and 8.4cm; this will create a curved handle. Stick the sides to the top of the
satchel.
7.
We have them cut a piece of the polka dot paper to 11.5cm x 1.1cm.
Cut into the paper to 8.5cm to create two separate strips. On the other side of
paper, cut the corners off and cut a small slit in the middle. Wrap the paper
around the satchel handle and feed the two strips of paper through the slit to
attach it to the handle.
8.
To finish, cut two pieces of the pale green rose paper to 9.2cm x
3.5cm and cut into the paper to create a frayed effect. Add double sided tape
to the inside of the paper and roll the paper into itself to create the tassel trims.
Add tape to the ends of the tassel strips and feed them into the centre of the
green tassels.
