Upcycling plates are a great way of creating a feature for your

What You Will Need
DecoArt Americana Décor Chalky Finish Paint – Everlasting
First Edition Deco Maché Brush Set
First Edition Deco Maché Matt Adhesive and Vanish
A selection of First Edition Deco Maché Papers
DecoArt Metallic Lustre – Copper Kettle
A Plate
How to Make
1.
Ensure your plate is clean and dry before
applying a layer of white paint onto the front to cover old designs and create
a base for your papers.

2.
Cut long strips of your chosen First Edition
Deco Mache paper. Make sure the paper is wide enough to glue the edges onto the
back of the plate so you cannot see the white edges from the side.
Tip: You can rip your First Edition Deco Mache papers into
smaller squares if you find it easier.
3.
Paint a layer of First Edition Deco Mache Matt Adhesive Glue onto the plate, add your paper onto the plate and cover with
another thin layer over glue to seal it. Continue to do this, slightly
overlapping each piece of deco maché paper.

4.
Once the plate is complete covered, add another
layer of varnish for a hardwearing finish.
5.
To create a vintage inspired design, we cut out
various flowers from the First Edition Deco Mache- Bouquet to surround one side
of the plate.
Tip: Remember to wash your
brushes when not in use with warm soapy water so they do not dry out.

6.
Arrange your flower papers on the plate till you
are happy with the design. Apply a layer of glue to the plate and place the cut
out flowers onto the plate and seal with another layer of glue on top. Again
slightly overlap the papers. Once you are satifisifed with your design, cover
with a layer of varnish.

7.
Once dry, we have then added the DecoArt Metallic Lustre – Copper Kettle around the edges to create an on trend gilded finish.
