Ikea Ribba Photo Frame

MDF Letter

How to Make

1.Using the First Edition brush set, paint your MDF letter with a coat of DecoArt Chalky Finish Paint- Smitten. Leave to dry and paint another layer to intensify the colour, leave to dry.

2.Next, paint your MDF letter with the DecoArt Chalky Finish Paint- Refreshing. Again, you will want to leave to dry and then paint on another layer. Once fully covered, leave to dry.

3.To achieve a rustic effect, you will want to carefully sand your letter so that the first colour you painted on begins to show through.

TIP: Carefully sand your letter as you will want the predominant colour to be the last layer you painted. By sanding the edges you will achieve a vintage feel in a matter of seconds!

4.We have picked a frame with a depth of 4.5 cm so that the MDF letter won’t  be damaged by the glass. Take the wooden effect sheet from the First Edition Love Story 12x12 paper pad and cut it down to fit your frame.

5.Adhere your letter to the centre of your Love Story sheet with Dovecraft Perma Fix tape.

TIP: Embellish the inside and outside of your frame as much or as little as you like!

We love how simple it is to turn an MDF letter into a modern wall art piece! This would make a fantastic gift and you could add more letters painted in different colours, the crafty decision is in your hands!
